A 70-year-old Pace woman was left with minor injuries after a medical episode led to a single vehicle crash along Highway 90 at the Simpson River Bridge Fishing Pier. According to a Florida Highway Patrol report on the crash, troopers were dispatched at 7:44 a.m. July 11, in response to a single vehicle collision.

The Milton City Council was expected on Tuesday to decide whether to keep the city’s current property tax rate, adopt the rollback rate or consider an increase to offset rising operations costs. “What you need to think about is, are you inclined to maybe raise (the millage rate) a little bit or keep it the same. In the past, there have been times when people wanted to keep it at the rollback rate,” Budget Coordinator Heidi Sroka told the council at its July 3 executive committee meeting. “That can be done, but… given how all the other costs have gone up, that would be difficult for us.”

The Milton city manager’s job is Scott Collins’ to lose. Councilmembers voted unanimously Monday to invite Collins for an in-person interview at the council’s regular meeting beginning at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday. “I actually thought that there was one stellar candidate that stood out above them all,” Councilwoman Marilyn Farrow said at a special meeting to choose finalists to replace retiring City Manager Randy Jorgenson.
