A five-year project meant to provide affordable housing inside the city of Milton is nearly move-in ready.

Roxanne Meiss is running for re-election this November for Milton City Council Ward 2 position. Larry McKee is facing off against Meiss and is hoping to serve on the council for the first time.

After months of discussion, the city of Milton officially voted unanimously on Sept. 5 to cut its recycling program, though discussions on possibly privatizing the service remain ongoing. The program would end at the start of the fiscal year in October.

The 68th Electronic Warfare Squadron recently collaborated with their Danish and Norwegian counterparts in support of the delivery of F-16s from Denmark and the Netherlands to Ukraine, as announced by U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken earlier last month at the NATO Public Forum.

The starting pay for Milton police officers is less than most surrounding departments in Santa Rosa, Okaloosa and Escambia counties.
