Central’s girls basketball team wasn’t about to let an opportunity for a district win at home slip away Monday night.
Though Baker cut the Jaguars’ lead to eight a couple of times in the third quarter, capitalizing on second-chance opportunities, Central responded and took care of business.

Jay’s Brady Godwin talks baseball and future at college level
Brady Godwin was on the mound last May when Jay closed the deal on its first state baseball championship since 1970. The Royals defeated Bozeman 6-3 for the crown at Hammond Stadium in Fort Myers.
Now his senior season with the Royals is ahead and his college commitment is already squared away as he signed with Pensacola State in November.

After an historic snowstorm in Northwest Florida that closed schools all week, the District 1-6A boys and girls soccer tournaments are set to get started this weekend.
Navarre’s boys and girls soccer teams are both seeded second and have a bye in the first round. Meanwhile, Pace and Milton will square off Saturday in girls and boys soccer.
