Brian Out Loud
I received an email the other day from one of those companies in the middle of somewhere about NCAA basketball.
Call it good timing, especially with March Madness getting rolling this week with the NCAA tournament.
It lists the top 10 best cities for college hoops fans and the top 10 worst cities.

For God’s Sake: Trust in Christ Jesus today and truly live
I am writing this from my father-in-law’s living room in rural Indiana here to celebrate his 106th birthday. I marvel at the grace of God in granting him a long life.
Our perspective on aging is a curious thing. As children, we proudly marked our years in fractions, proclaiming, “I’m 4 ½ years old!”

For God’s Sake: To God be the glory
I occasionally have a troubling dream of the kind students have during a school year.
You know the kind, in your dream you arrive at school late and learn that you missed an important exam, or you were to give a presentation that day in class.

No price tag needed on value of preseason experience for Patriot flag football team
The value of the preseason cannot be underestimated. Pace’s flag football team knows that as well as anyone.
And this weekend, the Patriots are headed to Tampa to play in a tournament at the Bucs’ practice facility.

Out and About
One of the things in life that is certain is change. Time brings about healing, distance from what it was we were fired up about and a willingness to look to a better future.
Not all change is good – and change for the sake of change is not good. But last week, Navarre got to experience change for the better. Two chambers – once a source of dividing our community – have come together as one. It was something that required the right people and the right time.

Letter: What does matter is that Jesus Christ of Nazareth is coming again
Dear editor,
On Jan. 26, a leading rabbi in Israel died at age 108 in 2006.
While I was meditating on the second coming of Christ, Rabbi Yitzchak Kaduri came to mind. Kaduri left a note to be opened a year after his death.

For God’s Sake: I was surprised at being hacked; God was not.
I have now joined the growing ranks of people whose Facebook account has been hacked.
One Saturday morning a few weeks ago, I received a notification from Facebook that my paid ad was now approved and running. I had posted a paid ad for COMPASS Church where I am pastor, but that ad had been running for several days.

Mt. Pilgrim is a constant for Milton’s Black community
It’s impossible to discuss Milton’s history without mentioning – often – Mt. Pilgrim African Baptist Church.
Its congregation traces its history to antebellum times, when Blacks – many likely enslaved people working on a nearby plantation – and whites worshipped together at First Baptist Church (founded in 1845).

L.E.A.D. Academy girls basketball team not backing down from a challenge
Head coach Kara Lay wasn’t quite sure how her players, mostly middle-school-aged, were going to respond to a 54-20 defeat at the hands of 1A Jay in early December, especially after the Lions had cruised past their first four opponents by 30 or more points.
It didn’t take long to get an answer.

Memorable season comes to a close for Pace’s girls soccer team
When Ava Grace Wheaton scored with seven minutes to play in a postseason game that had already been decided, there were a few tears, perhaps the reality setting in that her prep soccer career and this season were about to come to end.
Her tally dented the scoreboard but did nothing to change the outcome of a 4-1 Region 1-6A quarterfinal loss to Gulf Breeze on a cool Tuesday evening at Dolphin Stadium.
