Trammel, Day turn in stellar performances at regional
Pace’s Hudson Trammel and Milton’s Noah Day turned in strong performances at the 3A Regional Meet last Wednesday in Ocala.
Trammel won the 100 Butterfly and took third in the 100 Backstroke while Day finished third in the 50 Freestyle and fifth in the 100 Freestyle at Butterfly at the Florida Aquatics Swimming and Training Center.
UWF football team still ranked in top 10
The University of West Florida football team remains ninth in this week’s AFCA NCAA Division II poll.
The Argos are 6-1 on the season and have won four consecutive games.

The UWF women’s soccer team is now in the top nationally.

Chance Thornton carries on family tradition at Jay
Chance Thornton runs at least 25 miles per week. Up hills, through the sand and across open stretches of land where there is no shade to block the sunlight.
It’s all part of the plan for the Jay senior standout to stay on top of his running game and be the best he can be in cross-country.
Patriots and Panthers have strong showing at district swim meet
Several Pace and Milton athletes are moving on to the 3A regional in swimming later this week after a strong showing at last Friday’s District 1-3A meet at the UWF Natatorium in Pensacola.
Both teams had one district champion. Hudson Trammel of Pace won 100 Backstroke and Milton’s Noah Day prevailed in the 100 Freestyle.
Patriots nearly rally for win over Raiders in a key district game
With three minutes and nine seconds to play Friday night inside Bennett C. Russell Stadium Pace found itself on the brink of an upset win over Navarre.
The Patriots had just scored a much-needed touchdown as Nick Simmons used a 5-yard run to trim the Raider lead from nine to two.
Late rally not enough as Panthers fall to Bulldogs
A pair of Northwest Florida high school football heavyweights squared off at Crestview’s Jack Foster Stadium on Friday as Milton came to town to take on the Bulldogs.
The Bulldogs jumped to a 28-0 lead and held off a comeback attempt by the Panthers to take a 49-28 win.
Patriots take pride in their success despite tough ending to season
During the huddle near the end of its District 1-6A semifinal against Navarre last Tuesday night, Pace head coach Cody Trimm took a moment to talk with his team.
The Patriots were on their way to a three-set loss to the Raiders, but they didn’t go down without a fight in a 20-25, 8-25, 18-25 loss.
Milton’s volleyball season draws to a close
All season Milton’s volleyball team has battled teams tough, and last Monday’s District 1-6A opener against Tate was no exception.
The Panthers closed the gap several times in the opening set, getting as close as 18-15 late, but Milton could never push itself over the top and went on to fall to the Aggies as their season came to a close.
Running game playing key role in Argos’ success
No one can deny the depth at running back for the University of West Florida football team. The Argos had it on full display in Saturday’s 45-17 win over Mississippi College at Pen Air Field.
Two running backs went over 100 yards, with Ra’veion Hargrove rushing for 139 and Shomari Mason churning out 137, while C.J. Wilson ran for three touchdowns as the Argos moved into sole possession of second place in the Gulf South Conference.
