Milton’s football team was hoping to make a statement Friday night on the road against Niceville.
The Panthers started the game well enough, scoring first, but the Eagles dominated most of the night. The result was a 45-21 District 1-5A loss for Milton at Eagle Stadium.
Two weeks remain in the season and big games are on tap for this week.
Pace hosts Navarre in a rivalry game and Milton heads to Niceville with a chance to make a statement. Jay is on the road at Wewahitchka and Central plays at Lighthouse.
Lighthouse Christian College head football coach David Wilson made a special announcement to his team after practice Wednesday morning.
He told the players Lighthouse now has its accreditation.
Pace’s volleyball season ended Wednesday night as the Patriots lost in three games to Oviedo in a District 1-6A quarterfinal.
The seventh-seeded Patriots lost 25-8, 25-10 and 25-19 as their bid for an upset of the second-seeded Lions fell short.
Jay’s volleyball team earned a regional tournament berth by winning its first district title in 30 years last week.
Now the Royals are set to play at home in the opening round, hosting Cottondale in a Rural Region 1 semifinal on Saturday afternoon. Match time is 2 p.m.
Pace’s volleyball team wasn’t sure if it would make the playoffs after losing in the opening round of the district tournament last week.
But the Patriots did indeed earn an at-large bid for the Region 1-6A tournament and will play tonight at Oviedo in the quarterfinal round.
