Former University of West Florida quarterback Marcus Stokes has transferred to Division I Memphis.

With a couple of weeks remaining in the regular season, several teams in our coverage area remain among the best in the FHSAA regional rankings.

In a season where wins have been hard to come by, the Milton boys soccer team earned a hard-fought 4-3 victory over visiting Freeport on Tuesday.


Despite a down year record wise, the Panthers have not given up.

Jay and Central are headed to the Sunshine State Athletic Association for football, opting to play in its postseason starting this fall.


However, the schools will remain under the Florida High School Athletic Association umbrella in the sport as far as rules and guidelines go.
