County to rename Pace Community Center to honor Don Salter
Don Salter, who served five four-year terms on the Santa Rosa County Board of County Commissioners beginning in 2000, lived just north of the Pace Community Center on Chumuckla Highway; he worked hard to get the facility approved and constructed.
On Monday, Commission Chairman Colten Wright suggested renaming the center to honor Salter, who died Aug. 20.

Triumph Gulf Coast awards Santa Rosa District Schools $9 million for Innovation Center
Santa Rosa District Schools on Monday, Oct. 2, announced that Triumph Gulf Coast has awarded the district a $9-million grant to create the Santa Rosa Center for Innovation, “a cutting-edge, STEAM-powered Career and Technical Education Learning Hub.”
