Facing a decade in prison, Milton father Sean Hollonbeck went to trial Tuesday, Aug. 25, in Santa Rosa County. Hollonbeck was ultimately acquitted on charges of false imprisonment and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
The charges were related to a 2024 incident in which Hollonbeck held an Uber driver at gun-point. Throughout his time facing the charges, Hollonbeck maintained he acted as any parent would under the circumstances.

A 47-year-old Milton man was arrested for the shooting death of a 41 year old woman at a residence in the Milton area Friday evening, Aug. 1.
Curtis Marvin Johnson, 47, is charged with homicide. In his arrest report, the charge is de-scribed as “murder dangerous depraved without premeditation.”

On Thursday, March 13, Toby James White, who was apprehended by law enforcement Jan. 25 for second degree murder, was found dead in his cell at Santa Rosa County Jail.

Elizabeth Jasmine Bradberry of Pensacola, Florida was sentenced as part of a plea deal for a case involving a 2022 fatal crash in Santa Rosa County. The deal was processed on Friday, Jan. 31.

On July 17, 2022, Bradberry was driving a stolen 2018 Toyota Rav4 southbound on State Road 87 in Santa Rosa County. The Toyota had 4 occupants, including a 17-year-old female from Pensacola. A license plate reader notification was received by deputies with Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office.

The bridge on Polktown Road, just west of Country Mill Road, will be closed beginning today, Mon., Sept. 30 due to safety concerns on a settling headwall. Repairs will begin within a week, weather permitting, and are expected to take up to a month to complete. Traffic will detour to and from the north end of Polktown Road off Curt Lane.
