The city announced it has received official permits from the Florida Department of Environmental Protection to construct and operate a new wastewater treatment plant and associated sprayfields.

Little Red School House, a classroom supply depot, opened Jan. 26 to teachers across Santa Rosa County.

Filled with nearly 20,000 classroom supplies, including pens, pencils, markers, paper, folders and paper towels, the Little Red School House was able to serve 350 educators during this recent opening.

Santa Rosa County is in preliminary talks with the U.S. Navy to acquire a 694-acre airfield adjacent to the Northwest Florida Industrial Park at I-10.

The airfield, known as Santa Rosa Outlying Field, is still in use by the Navy. If you’ve driven on Highway 87 South near Interstate 10 exit 31, then you’ve likely seen orange and white helicopters flying.

The Milton Police Department has arrested a suspect in connection with an animal cruelty investigation involving a dog at So Pawsh Dog Grooming in Milton located at 6056 Doctor’s Park Rd, Milton, FL 32570.
Kerree J. Patterson, 37, is charged with animal cruelty.

Due to network repairs, January utility bills for the City of Milton have not yet been issued. Additionally, some customers did not receive a mailed December utility bill; those charges are available in the billing system

There were 1,229 crashes in Milton from 2018 to 2022. Five percent of the wrecks were fatal or led to serious injury. Twelve percent of the wrecks involved injury.
Those were some of the figures the Milton City Council heard ahead of a vote on whether to accept a $300,000 grant from the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA). The council ultimately approved the resolution to accept the funding at their Jan. 13 meeting.
