Pacitti had to battle to hang on after the ball was deflected, but she ultimately made a clutch catch that proved to be the difference in Pace’s hard-fought 13-6 win over Bartram Trail in a Region 1-3A quarterfinal Wednesday night.

Pace’s boys track team won the District 1-3A championship last Thursday at Pine Forest while the girls team finished third.
Milton also competed at the meet and had one district champion in Hattie Lee, who won the 400 hurdles in a time of 1:07.87.

It was well after 9 p.m. on a Thursday night in Baker and Jays’ baseball team was still celebrating its championship.
The players were taking photos with the trophy, savoring the thrill of going back-to-back as district champions for the first time since 2009 after beating rival Central 14-2 in six innings.
