At halftime of Milton’s girls basketball game against Gulf Breeze in a District 1-6A quarterfinal, the score was knotted at 18-18.
The second half proved to be a different story for the Panthers, who opened the third quarter on an 11-0 run and went on to win 43-27 Monday night.

It’s almost time for the girls weightlifting state meets. The 3A schools compete are set to compete Feb. 11 while the 1A schools will compete Feb. 13.
Both competitions are at the RP Funding Center in Lakeland and will begin at 10 a.m. EST.

Central and Jay both had lifters place in the top six at the Region 1-1A girls weightlfting meet on Friday at North Bay Haven.
The Jaguars headlined their day with a pair of runner-up finishes in Kelsey Campbell (101) and Natalie Blair (154) while Emily Brown (129) had the top finish for the Royals, placing third in Olympic.

And on Thursday, the Patriots claimed a title once again, winning Olympic and Traditional in dominating fashion at the Region 1-3A meet at home, completing the next step towards another state crown.
