Pace’s flag football team made an effort to rally for a win in its Region 1-3A quarterfinal game against Niceville Wednesday night.

Pace’s softball team plays for a District 1-6A title tonight when it takes on Navarre at 6:30 p.m. in Pace.

Central’s softball team had its season end in the Rural District 1 tournament Monday night in Jay.

Jay’s softball team advanced to the Rural District 1 championship game with a 14-0 win run-rule win over Paxton Tuesday night.

The regional track meets are this week and Santa Rosa County will be well-represented. 

It’s been nearly a decade since Milton’s softball team has won at least 16 games in a season.


That kind of success is a big deal.

Landon Golden was on the Jay baseball team that won state two years ago. He saw what it took to make that kind of run.


And the senior knows what it will take for this team to have the same success in this year’s postseason.

Pace moved one step closer to a third consecutive state championship in boys weightlifting while Milton showed it is poised to be somewhere in the top three at state.

Emory Allen showed his emotion, pumping his fists, flexing and shouting, after striking out a batter to get Pace through the top of the seventh inning with the score still 2-2.


And now it was time for the Patriots to take their shot at winning this Region 1-6A quarterfinal in dramatic fashion.

Oh, what a day it was for Jay’s boys weightlifting team.


For the first time in program history, the Royals claimed a regional championship. In fact, they got two of them, winning Olympic and Traditional titles at the Region 1-1A meet in Walton on Friday.
