District tourney brackets set for area volleyball teams
Brackets are set for district tournaments involving Santa Rosa County volleyball teams.
Pace will take on Navarre next Tuesday night in Navarre in a 6 p.m. District 1-6A semifinal match. Milton begins tourney play Monday as it battles Tate in Cantonment in a first-round match.
Patriots get back on track with win over Tigers
Pace went into Friday night’s game against Pensacola hoping to snap a two-game losing streak.
The Patriots accomplished their mission.
Behind a ground attack that couldn’t be slowed down and a defense that gave up very little, Pace bulldozed its way past the Tigers by a 44-7 score in its homecoming game.
Milton’s Jada Savage enjoyed opportunity to play basketball overseas this past summer
Jada Savage sat in an airport earlier this summer feeling nervous, but also excited.
For the first time in her life, the Milton hoops standout was headed overseas, selected to play on a basketball team representing the United States. A flight to Philadelphia was up first and then on to Spain.
Panthers head into final stretch looking to build momentum
Milton is coming off its bye week. And while the Panthers haven’t had the easiest time in the first half of the season, they certainly still have goals that can be achieved.
Sitting at 2-4 overall and 1-1 in District 1-4S, Milton is still in the hunt for a district championship if it can run the table from here on out.
Schulte, Parker pave way for Patriots at Lumberjack 5K
Gavin Schulte led the way as Pace clinched a team victory at Saturday’s Lumberjack 5K on the Pensacola State-Milton campus.
Schulte ran a time of 18:03.1 to take first overall. Teammate Eli Tyner was right behind him, placing second in a time of 18:24.6.
Pace volleyball team trending in right direction
Pace was supposed to play a volleyball match last Wednesday night, but Fort Walton Beach had to cancel because of a schedule conflict.
So the Patriots used the night to run a practice and use the time to get a little bit better in a season that has been all about improvement.
Johnston named Marlins’ Double-A MVP
Troy Johnston has been named the Double-A MVP of the Miami Marlins organization.
The standout hitter played in 85 games with the Blue Wahoos in 2022, hitting .292.
Panthers prevail in homecoming game against Tate
Patriots fall short in back-and-forth battle with Dolphins
After a fast 3-0 start to the season, the Pace Patriots dropped their second heart-breaker in a row, falling 35-28 to the visiting Gulf Breeze Dolphins Friday night.
Despite the setback, Pace Head Coach Kent Smith still has faith in his Patriots, who were coming off a bye week after losing 29-21 to Crestview two weeks ago.
