Milton’s Gabi Wright is one of the better golfers in the area and came through with medalist honors at a tri-match against Navarre and Pace Tuesday afternoon at Hidden Creek.

Tyner leads way for Pace at Patriot Invitational
Eli Tyner picked up his speed as he charged towards the finish line, the rain beginning to fall a little harder as the sophomore took aim at putting a bow on a top 15 finish at the Patriot Invitational on Sept. 2.
The Pace sophomore ended up 15th overall, recording a time of 18:26.9, and felt good about his finish.

The Jay Royals recovered Freeport’s onside kick with less than two minutes to play and ran out the clock to seal the deal on a 20-14 win last Friday night.

Looking back at UWF’s season-opening win
There was little doubt about the University of West Florida coming out on top in its season opener against Kentucky Wesleyan Friday night at Pen Air Field.
The Argos came in ranked in the top nationally and coming off a third NCAA Division II final four appearance in program history. Kentucky Wesleyan was unranked and won just two games in 2022.

Pace falls short against Lincoln
The Patriots took a tough loss last Friday night against the Lincoln Trojans, falling 21-7 at home and dropping to 1-1 on the season.
The Patriot defense came out of the gate strong, stopping the Trojans from putting up points in the first quarter. The Trojan defense had the same energy and forced the Patriots to punt twice in the opening quarter.

Panther swimmers fare well at tri-meet
Milton’s swim competed in a tri-meet with Navarre and Fort Walton Beach last Wednesday at the Pullum YMCA.
The Panthers finished third overall as a team.

Milton and Pace finished third and fourth, respectively, in a four-team meet at Stonebrook Monday.
Gabi Wright had the top score for the Panthers, carding a 44, as Milton finished with a 202.
