Jay’s volleyball team is atop Rural Region 1 in the first set of FHSAA regional rankings.


The Royals are unbeaten through 10 games and are second in the state overall. Central is also in the top four in the region and 13th in the state.

Central’s football team is still looking for its first win of 2025 after falling 46-8 to Northview  Friday night at home.

Jay made the trip down Highway 4 on Friday night for a football matchup against Baker. In what would turn out to be a memorable installment in the longstanding rivalry, Baker came out on top 29-20.

To the naked eye, a 3-0 final score in football reads dull and boring for most.


Friday’s clash between the host Milton Panthers and Tate Aggies was anything but.

Central’s volleyball team took on Baker Thursday night and played the Gators close.


Baker ultimately prevailed 25-19, 25-18, 25-20.
