Autumn Boutwell made it look easy. The same way she has the previous hundred-plus times she’s launched up a 3-point shot in a game. In Central’s dominating 61-21 win over Northview on Jan. 19, the sophomore star took the assist from a teammate and knocked down an open shot from beyond the arc to break the record for 3-pointers in a season at the school.

The only thing left to be decided for Pace late Friday night here at Bennett C. Russell Stadium in Navarre was where the team was going to have its post-game meal. In some ways, the real appetite had already been satisfied for the Patriots, who finally secured a long-awaited postseason win over the rival Raiders, holding off Navarre 1-0 in a hard-fought, back-and-forth, physical District 1-6A tournament semifinal on a chilly evening in late January.

With more than 100,000 followers, Lily Priddy has created quite a following for herself on Tik Tok. People now know who she is when she walks into a meet. But social media isn’t the only way the Milton senior is making a name for herself. She’s also quite a success story in girls weightlifting and further cemented that reputation Wednesday afternoon in Niceville by winning a title in traditional at the District 1-3A meet.

Pace finished as the state runner-up a year ago in 3A. Milton fashioned a top five finish at state in 2A but has now moved up a classification this year. Both girls weightlifting teams hope to have successful runs in the postseason, which was slated to start Wednesday with the District 1-3A meet at Niceville.
