IN OUR OPINION: Bringing Jorgenson back would be a mistake
As soon as Milton City Councilman Jeff Snow learned that City Manager Scott Collins had submitted a letter of resignation, he quickly recommended a short-term fix: Appoint retired former City Manager Randy Jorgenson to fill the gap until the council can find a suitable replacement.
Unfortunately, Snow’s knee-jerk reaction was the wrong move in the wrong direction at the wrong time for the wrong person.

Collins submits resignation; Jorgenson to return as interim city manager?
The Milton City Council is expected to consider appointing Randy Jorgenson as interim city manager at its regular meeting Tuesday, Feb. 13.
Jorgenson served as city manager from 2018 until his retirement in September 2023. Scott Collins, hired in September to replace Jorgenson, submitted his letter of resignation to Mayor Heather Lindsay and the council by email on Wednesday, Feb. 7.

Central senior competes in FFA state tractor safety contest
Hunter Hall grinned when a reporter asked how long he’s been driving tractors.
“Since I could walk,” he said.
Hall, of Brownsdale, is a senior at Central School in Allentown. On Friday, he finished ninth in the Florida FFA Safe Tractor Operation and Maintenance Contest at the Florida State Fairground in Tampa.
