After months of discussion, the city of Milton voted 4-2 on July 9 to pass an ordinance establishing how it will handle public forum at future meetings.

Shari Sebastiao, Jeff Snow, Casey Powell and Roxanne Meiss voted in favor. Marilynn Farrow and Michael Cusack voted against. Gavin Hawthorne and Matt Jarrett were not at the meeting.

In 2006, Staff Sergeant Daniel Gilyeat’s life changed in the blink of an eye.

Gilyeat was serving his second tour in Iraq, working to find and disarm bombs, when he was caught in the blast of an explosion. Ultimately, he lost his left leg, but it still could’ve been much worse. After the explosion, while in transport by helicopter, Gilyeat died and was revived two times.
