Federal and state legal opinions currently block Santa Rosa County from banning abortion clinics, but Commissioner James Calkins wants to be ready to act if those barriers are removed.

A 29 year old Milton man was booked into jail on June 3 after investigators with the Santa Rosa Sheriff’s Office began looking into him following a traffic stop.

The man, Mark Anthony Frate, was stopped on June 3 after a sergeant with Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office noticed that Frate was driving down the road at four in the morning with a two year old in his lap. The two year old was unrestrained in the car.

Milton City Council hopefuls have a problem heading into the 2022 election; if they follow the city’s current rules, they won’t be on the ballot.

Projects that reduce energy costs ultimately will pay for themselves, Milton City Manager Randy Jorgensen told the city council at its May 26 Committee of the Whole meeting.
