Mayor worries riverfront project could push residents from their homes
Not too nice. That was Mayor Heather Lindsay’s plea to staff preparing to advertise a request for proposals to develop city-owned property along the Blackwater River.
“My fear is that this will attract the kind of investor who wants to create a glamorous development for very wealthy individuals to have riverfront property,” Lindsay said at the city council’s July 3 executive committee meeting.

Medical episode leads to crash, submerged car at Simpson River Bridge
A 70-year-old Pace woman was left with minor injuries after a medical episode led to a single vehicle crash along Highway 90 at the Simpson River Bridge Fishing Pier.
According to a Florida Highway Patrol report on the crash, troopers were dispatched at 7:44 a.m. July 11, in response to a single vehicle collision.
