After two years of negotiations, the Escambia, Okaloosa, Santa Rosa and Walton county commissions have agreed to build a new District One Medical Examiner’s facility in Milton.

East Milton Park’s future looks bright. On Thursday, Dec. 14, the Santa Rosa County Commission approved an agreement with Lighthouse Private Christian Academy to take over management of the 71-acre sports complex northeast of State Road 87 South’s intersection with U.S. Highway 90.

Shari Sebastiao will again represent Ward 4, Seat 1 on the Milton City Council. The council on Tuesday voted 5-2 to appoint her to the position she lost to Jason Vance in the 2022 election. Vance and his family moved outside the city’s limits, vacating the Ward 4, Seat 1 position.
