Pedestrian killed on Highway 90 over weekend
A Pace man, 65, was killed after being struck by an SUV on Sun., Dec. 4. The incident occurred along Highway 90 near Jerry Drive in Pace.
According to Florida Highway Patrol, the Pace man was walking north across Highway 90 when a vehicle traveling westbound struck him. The driver of the vehicle is 28 year old Milton man. The Pace man died at the scene because of his injuries.

Bed tax uses, Whiting Aviation Park among SRC legislative priorities

Stabbing victim, suspect on opposite sides of romantic triangle
A Milton woman may have stabbed another woman last month because of jealousy.
According to a Santa Rosa Sheriff’s Office report, Monique Marie Garner, 32, of Milton, unlawfully entered a home in Pace on Nov. 19 and stabbed her former girlfriend’s new girlfriend in the groin.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northwest Florida to host “Sean of the South”
Sean Dietrich, better known as “Sean of the South,” is coming to Imogene Theatre in Milton for an event to benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northwest Florida. The event will take place Dec. 8 at 7 p.m.
Dietrich is a columnist, novelist, and storyteller known for his commentary on life in the American South. According to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northwest Florida, the event, titled “An Evening with Sean of the South,” will consist of storytelling and music from Dietrich and special guests.

Santa Rosa County Animal Services to host a drive-through microchip clinic
Santa Rosa County Animal Services (SRCAS) is hosting a reduced-cost microchip drive-through clinic on Wed., Dec. 7, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Santa Rosa County Animal Services, located at 4451 Pine Forest Road in Milton.
Only cats and dogs are eligible to be microchipped and the shelter will be closed to set up and run the clinic.

Milton City Manager Randy Jorgenson is looking for someone qualified to oversee completion of a $70-million wastewater treatment plant.
A request for proposals issued in September received no response; when that happens, city policy allows the city council to authorize the city manager to seek products or services “by other means.”
