The University of West Florida celebrated the planting of a “Moon Tree” seedling that flew around the moon on NASA’s Artemis 1 mission in 2022. UWF was selected from hundreds of organizations that applied to receive a seedling.

Four students from Sims Middle School competed at the National Speech & Debate Association’s 2024 National Tournament in Des Moines, Iowa, the week of June 19 through 21. There, they competed against 7,000 students from the top speech and debate programs from around the world.

There was a significant shake-up in Santa Rosa District Schools in June.

At the June 13 school board meeting, the district appointed seven people to new positions at schools throughout the district, including four principals at Holley Navarre Primary School, Avalon Middle School, East Milton Elementary School and Gulf Breeze Elementary School.

Proud parents, eager students and Pace High School staff packed the Pensacola Bay Center Saturday, May 25 for the Class of 2024’s final send off. The event saw Several hundred graduate.

Valedictorian Madison Quintanilla and Salutatorian Atiye Buker gave speeches reflecting on their time at Pace High and with their classmates, as well as words of encouragement for all those entering the next phase of life.
