The 2024 annual awards ceremony for the Lifeguard Ambulance Service of Santa Rosa County honored local lifeguards and emergency medical technicians (EMT) for their outstanding accomplishments. One local EMT was named the EMT of the Year for the state of Florida.

On Nov. 5 the citizens of Santa Rosa County voted no to the one cent sales tax. Now the county will have to find new funding opportunities for improvements to county roads, what was believed to be a top issue among voters when the penny sales tax was proposed.
