On Saturday, April 12, 4-H and FFA contestants participated in the Annual Youth Livestock Show. Students were able to demonstrate their skills for taking care of livestock and were judged based not only on their performance but the animals as well.

On April 12, the Florida Department of Health hosted its Third Annual All Moms All Babies Color Run, celebrating National Minority Health Month and promoting breastfeeding for all babies.

MILTON, Fla. – The City of Milton is proud to continue its longstanding commitment to urban forestry by celebrating Arbor Day with a special tree planting ceremony at Milton High School on April 25, 2025, at 12:30 p.m.

Students from 16 schools in Santa Rosa County descended upon Pace High School’s football field for the inaugural north end edition of the Zack Butler Memorial Sports Ability Games Thursday, April 3. Named for a physical education teacher and coach who lost his battle with cancer in 2022, the Sports Ability Games are designed to expand the field of opportunity for special needs students in athletics.

Friday, April 4, kicked off the three-day Spring Festival of Flowers event at the Pensacola State College Milton Campus.

One local Milton resident picked up beekeeping as a hobby, now honeybees live in her backyard and her heart. 

Honeybees are practically in Conni Carnley’s DNA. Her grandfather and aunt both had a history of beekeeping, and she has fond memories of visiting her aunt’s hive in her youth. But it was not until 2014 that she decided to pick up the hobby herself. Now she and her husband, Danny, manage 46 hives.

It will be basketball for a good cause when Milton Panther basketball players take on members of the staff in a game at the Panther Den on April 7. Game time is 6:30 p.m.
The money raised will benefit the family of Milton High student Kira Wagner, who had a life-saving heart transplant in February.

The FarmHouse Fair event on Saturday, March 22, featured speakers on homesteading, local sellers, food trucks, and music.

Ladies Skill Sharing founder Rachel Wallace hosted the event. She believes the traditional style of providing families with food raised, grown, or foraged from the backyard is a skill that everyone can and should learn.

Rachel Wallace founded Ladies Skill Share in January 2023. Now she has hosted several classes, and a large-scale event dedicated to teaching the community homesteading skills.

Ladies Skill Sharing is a women-based group that teaches homesteading skills. The group began because Wallace could see the need to learn and teach the skills that generations before us utilized in their daily lives and sometimes to survive hard times. Wallace believes there is power in knowledge and in wanting to share that with the community she founded Ladies Skill Sharing.

Hundreds of families with children from birth to age five attended a special event designed to help young learners thrive on Saturday, March 1, 2025. The “Help Me Thrive” Early Childhood Family Event was held at the Santa Rosa County Auditorium, located at 4530 Spikes Way in Milton.
