Santa Rosa County’s elections are secure.
That was Colten Wright’s message last week to residents worried that “nefarious actors” manipulated 2020 election results and may try to do so again this year.
No reply: Search for Milton WWTP project manager continues
The deadline to submit qualifications to manage the City of Milton’s almost $70-million wastewater reclamation project passed last month without response.
“This is a big project; a huge project,” Interim Public Information Officer Jay Conrad said Friday. “Our expectation has been that anyone with the qualifications to do this job already is employed; we knew it might take some time to attract the kind of expertise we need for a project of this magnitude.”

US 90 Bridge replacement over Simpson River to run through March 2023
Construction crews have temporarily shifted eastbound traffic to the westbound bridge over Simpson River. According to Santa Rosa County, the shift is expected to be in place through March 2023.
During this time, there will be two westbound lanes and one eastbound travel lane using the westbound bridge. Due to the traffic shift, there will not be dedicated bike lanes on the bridge.

SUV flipped while trying to elude Santa Rosa Sheriff’s deputy, report says
A 40 year old man found himself in the hospital after allegedly attempting to flee and elude a Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s deputy.
The incident began when the man’s vehicle entered the westbound lane of Nichols Lake Road from Nichols Creek Road. According to a Florida Highway Patrol report, the man was trying to elude Santa Rosa Sheriff’s Deputy Chapman.
