Treymar Jones went over the 1,000-point milestone at Milton this past basketball season.


He nearly hit 1,000 while at L.E.A.D. Academy and then came to Milton with something to prove.

While Pace’s flag football team has a new head coach this season, the expectations are the same and the talent hasn’t dropped off.


The Patriots are coming off a state final four run and looking to contend for a championship again this year, this time with former assistant Pat Riley at the helm.

Pace’s baseball team started 0-4 last season.


It’s a different story this year as the Patriots have won four of their first five, including an extra inning thriller against Tate. Pace won that game 4-3 in in nine innings on Feb. 22.

Milton boys basketball coach Joey Nieves is the Florida Athletic Coaches Association District 1 Coach of the Year for the second year in a row.


It’s hardly a surprise as Nieves led the Panthers to another 20-win season, a district title and an appearance in the Sweet 16.

Milton’s baseball team didn’t have to work too hard to take care of business against District 1-5A opponent Pine Forest for the second time this season.


The Panthers scored six runs in the first and rolled to a 15-5 victory on the road, notching their sixth win of the season, as an impressive start for the team continues.

Milton’s girls lacrosse team lost two of the best players in the area to graduation.


Lauryn Hatler and Amber Barnes were the scoring leaders for the Panthers last season.

North Santa Rosa County represented itself well at the FHSAA state weightlifting meet three weeks ago at the RP Funding Center in Lakeland.


Pace won two state 3A championships, including a three-peat in traditional, while Milton and Central both made an impact in the 3A and 1A, respectively.

Milton’s softball team isn’t heavy on experience this year. There are only three seniors on the roster.


But that doesn’t mean the Panthers aren’t ready to compete day in and day out.

Milton’s baseball team finished with a winning record last season and hope to build on that success this year.


The Panthers are off and running so far, with three wins in their first four games.

Winning is the norm for the Pace baseball team. And the Patriots hope to keep that trend rolling this year.


They certainly have the experience and talent to do it, especially with five of its players already committed to a college.
