Several Pace and Milton athletes are moving on to the 3A regional in swimming later this week after a strong showing at last Friday’s District 1-3A meet at the UWF Natatorium in Pensacola.

Both teams had one district champion. Hudson Trammel of Pace won 100 Backstroke and Milton’s Noah Day prevailed in the 100 Freestyle.

The Patriots had just scored a much-needed touchdown as Nick Simmons used a 5-yard run to trim the Raider lead from nine to two.

A pair of Northwest Florida high school football heavyweights squared off at Crestview’s Jack Foster Stadium on Friday as Milton came to town to take on the Bulldogs.

The Bulldogs jumped to a 28-0 lead and held off a comeback attempt by the Panthers to take a 49-28 win.

All season Milton’s volleyball team has battled teams tough, and last Monday’s District 1-6A opener against Tate was no exception.

The Panthers closed the gap several times in the opening set, getting as close as 18-15 late, but Milton could never push itself over the top and went on to fall to the Aggies as their season came to a close.

No one can deny the depth at running back for the University of West Florida football team. The Argos had it on full display in Saturday’s 45-17 win over Mississippi College at Pen Air Field.

Two running backs went over 100 yards, with Ra’veion Hargrove rushing for 139 and Shomari Mason churning out 137, while C.J. Wilson ran for three touchdowns as the Argos moved into sole possession of second place in the Gulf South Conference.
