Francisco Ramirez was fast during his cross-country and track days at Pace. Then he got to college, competing for NCAA Division II Flagler, and he learned while he’s still fast, so is everyone else.

Last Friday’s matchup at Washington was the perfect opportunity for the Milton Panthers to get back on track after a 42-7 loss at the hands of Niceville last week.

And boy, did they deliver, rolling to a 28-0 win over the Wildcats.

For now, Duvall continues to thrive at the high school level for Pace, shooting a 32 in a four-team match at Hidden Creek Thursday afternoon.

Pace and Milton are looking for bounce-back wins Friday night. Both teams are on the road as the Patriots play at West Florida Tech and the Panthers face off against Booker T Washington.

Jay is hoping to keep the momentum rolling in the right direction when it plays host to Franklin County.

Zariah Allen, Kaydence Rogers and Harper Cooley bring a lot of experience to the table for Milton’s volleyball team.

Allen and Rogers are seniors and team captains. Cooley is a junior.

Drew Henry has the potential to be a state qualifier this season and that’s a sign the hard work he’s put in is paying off.

“Things are going well,” Henry said. “I had a good (offseason) with GPAC.”

Jay’s volleyball team is on a roll early on this season. The Royals are unbeaten through five games after knocking off Northview in four sets Tuesday.

Jay won the match 25-9, 21-25, 25-20, 25-20 to keep its perfect record intact.

Pace finished second in the overall team standings at a tri-meet with Navarre and West Florida Tech last Tuesday afternoon at the Pullum YMCA.

The Patriot boys had three event winners, including Brandon Carney, who won the 200 Freestyle (2:14.07).
