Amaya Pablo had just been sacked in the end zone, resulting in a safety, and now Chiles had a one-point lead over Pace in a District 1-2A regional semifinal game last Thursday night at home.
But the Patriots didn’t panic. A team on a mission, they responded to the adversity and scored the next 19 points on their way to a 26-8 victory, moving them a step closer to a trip to the final four.

Season of high expectations not done yet for Pace softball team
Jayden Heavener swung her bat and sent the ball over the fence in right, celebrating with her teammates as she crossed home plate and giving Pace an early two-run advantage on rival Milton Tuesday night at home.
She was one of nine to get a hit for the Patriots, who used a balanced offensive attack and another no-hitter by Heavener to take care of business against the Panthers by a 10-0 score in five innings.

Patriots crush Gators in district tourney opener
Top-seeded Pace rolled through the opening round of the District 1-2A flag football tournament Monday, crushing Escambia 75-0.
Freshman sensation Amaya Pablo threw five touchdowns in the win as the Patriots head on to Wednesday’s semifinal round against county rival Navarre in Pace.
