Argos dominate Bearcats in road win
Willie Jordan set a school record for an interception return and the University of West Florida offense also continued to roll in a 49-10 win over Southwest Baptist Saturday night in Missouri.
Jordan ran a pick back 99 yards for a score while seventh-ranked UWF racked up 400 yards of offense as they improved to 2-0 on the season.
Energized effort propels Patriots to success
Addison Gevo pumped her fist, shouted and smiled, sending an added jolt of energy through the Pace volleyball team as it moved one step closer to victory against West Florida Tech last Thursday night.
Gevo had just recorded another kill, drilling the ball hard enough to where the Jaguars were unable to defend it. That play, combined with everything else that seemed to work for the Patriots, helped propel them to a three-set victory (25-22, 25-17 and 25-19) and their fourth consecutive win.
Jimenez enjoying opportunity to coach at alma mater
Katie Jimenez could have played volleyball in college, but she wanted to be a Division I athlete, and softball was her path to achieving that goal.

Patriots fare well at own invitational
Alexis Parker and Gavin Schulte had the top times for the Pace Patriots at Saturday’s Patriot Invitational.
Parker placed 19th overall in a time of 22:47.70 in the girls race while Gavin Schulte earned a top 10 finish at the meet, taking seventh overall in a time of 17:20.70.
Patriots run past St. Martin
A strong running game and a salty defense helped the Pace Patriots overcome an early deficit in a 38-18 win over the St. Martin Yellow Jackets on Friday in Pace.
The visitors from Ocean Springs, Mississippi, kept the Patriots’ defense off balance on their opening possession. The Yellow Jackets marched 80 yards on 10 plays to take 6-0 lead with 6:29 left in the opening quarter.
