In a rare event, law enforcement raided a local newsroom in Marion, Kansas, carrying out equipment, computers, cell phones and files. They also raided the publisher’s and the owner’s home. Apparently, the newspaper received a tip about a local restaurant owner’s drunk driving conviction. The paper chose not to publish any of the information.

We are just going to take it one game at a time. We have to work hard and give the best effort possible. We can’t let the same mistake beat us twice. Oh sorry. I was working on my coach speak. I’ve been promoted to coach in case you haven’t heard. Social media gave me the gig. And we all know that everything on social media is true.

I am not often led to comment publicly on events of the day. But the recent “Clown Show”, i.e. Milton Council, should be an embarrassment to anybody with half a brain:

Using statistics from the Department of Labor, The Wall Street Journal reports that real hourly wages during the Biden presidency have declined. When Joe Biden took office in January 2021, the average hourly wage adjusted for inflation was $11.39. Now, 29 months later, it stands at $11.03, a 3.16% decline.

I’ve been mostly out this week and about in other parts of Florida. Sarasota to be specific. We brought seven of us to the Florida Press Conference to learn the latest trends and best practices in journalism and design. We also had our awards ceremony, and while Navarre Press didn’t win the overall trophy for our division, Santa Rosa Press Gazette did.
