A drive-thru “convenient convenience store” could be coming to Chumuckla.

“What I mean by convenience is not having to get out of your car,” Mohamed Jaouri of FIJA LLC told the Santa Rosa County Zoning Board on Feb. 18. “Obviously, you can buy the objects we’re going to sell at any corner store, but we’re trying to provide convenience for mothers who’re going to be picking up their kids at (Wallace Lake Intermediate School) by not having to get out of their cars to pick up whatever essentials they need.”

A Milton man is counting more than just his blessings after he won a grand prize from the Florida lottery. Bernard Waters, 63, claimed the $5 million top prize from the $20 Monopoly Doubler Scratch Off game this month. According to the Florida lottery, Waters chose to receive his winnings as a one-time lump-sum payment of $3,994,698.
