The Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office was joined by the community Monday, May 6, for a Law Enforcement Memorial Ceremony to honor fallen officers across Florida. Held at the sheriff’s office administrative facility in East Milton, the agency honored three fallen Santa Rosa County officers and five other officers from various other agencies.

On Thursday, May 9, Keller Williams Emerald Coast in Navarre presented a check for $4,800 to Emerald Coast Exceptional Families, a 501c3 nonprofit which provides support services to special needs families. The money will go toward funding for the SAFE program, something ECEF started with the Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office in 2022. The SAFE program is meant to foster better communication between law enforcement agencies and the special needs community.

On May 4, Sean Hollonbeck of Milton allegedly held an Uber driver at gunpoint after the driver dropped his 13 year old daughter off at Hollonbeck’s residence on Dolphin Road. The incident has garnered quite a bit of attention from locals, many of whom know Hollonbeck. A day after Hollonbeck spoke to the press, Uber has responded to questions regarding their rideshare policies for minors.

Outside his home on Dolphin Road in Milton, Sean Hollonbeck, a 31-year veteran and founder of the Warhorse Project, spoke to members of the media in an attempt to clear up what happened May 4 that led to his arrest for kidnapping – false imprisonment and aggravated assault. “The vast majority of this story has not been presented to the public whatsoever,” Hollonbeck said.
