Milton proclaims March as Red Cross month
The City of Milton declared March as Red Cross month at the Milton City Council meeting on March 11.
The American Red Cross, founded more than 140 years ago by Civil War nurse Clara Barton, pursues the mission of preventing and alleviating human suffering in the face of emergencies by mobilizing the power of volunteers and the generosity of donors.

No appropriations money for Milton
The City of Milton’s $2 million in appropriations requests won’t be submitted. Neighboring representative, Patt Maney, said he was told not to pick up the requests. “I’m not getting into the Santa Rosa hassles,” Maney said.

Santa Rosa County couple arrested for child abuse after hospital visit
After a two monthlong investigation, Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office has arrested two county residents for child abuse and neglect.
Jesse Allen Smith, 29, of Jay, is charged with cruelty toward a child, which is described as aggravated child abuse. Jordan Chase Moore, 28, of Pace, is charged with child neglect with great bodily harm. At the time of the arrests, the two were involved in a relationship.
