Full schedule announced for 2023 Pensacola Beach Air Show featuring the U.S. Navy Blue Angels
Pensacola’s hometown heroes will be front and center at the 2023 Pensacola Beach Air Show, hosted by the Santa Rosa Island Authority (SRIA), July 5-8, 2023. The elite U.S. Navy Blue Angels will headline all events which culminate on Saturday, July 8, with the official Air Show.

Milton council changes city manager search schedule so candidate won’t ‘get away’
One candidate to replace retiring Milton City Manager Randy Jorgenson clearly stands head-and-shoulders above the others, at least in the mind of Councilman Mike Cusack.
“If we let Scott Collins get away, we may live to regret it,” Cusack said Wednesday after councilmembers finished their sixth and final Zoom interview of city manager applicants. “If we wait until July 11, he’ll be gone.”

Two nonprofit organizations are pursuing Jack Wetherell’s vision when he opened the Panhandle Butterfly House in 1997 in Navarre, one the nonprofit sponsor of the program, the other founded in 2021 by a former volunteer and board president of the original Panhandle Butterfly House board.

Despite pending lawsuit, Butterflies in Motion keeps taking environmental education on the road
Butterflies in Motion, Inc. – formerly known as Panhandle Butterfly House and Nature Center, Inc. – uses a mobile butterfly habitat to deliver free educational programs across northern Florida between late spring and the end of the Monarch butterfly migration in October. In just its second season, it already has earned awards for environmental education from the Florida Federation of Garden Clubs and the six-state Deep South Regional Garden Club; it also has received a conservation education award from National Garden Clubs Inc.

And then there were eight: Milton narrows field to replace Jorgenson
At a special meeting Thursday, June 15, the Milton City Council narrowed the field of candidates to replace retiring City Manager Randy Jorgenson from 43 to eight. The council expects to conduct Zoom virtual interviews of four candidates at each of two special meetings next week. The meetings will begin at 5:30 p.m. Monday, June 26, and Wednesday, June 28, at City Hall, 6738 Dixon St.
