A Milton man who says he’s overcome drug abuse and is currently dealing with another personal crisis is asking area churches to consider ways to open to the community throughout the week, instead of just on Sundays and Wednesdays.

Immanuel Baptist Church of Pace recently held its Vacation Bible School, in which they hosted 512 children. The multi-day event, open to children in kindergarten through fifth grade, is the church’s largest outreach event.

Kids Outdoor Zone helps connect boys to faith and nature

For the past couple of years, Woodbine Church’s men have been coming together to help teach boys ages 8 to 18 outdoor skills and Bible lessons. The men and boys are a part of Kids Outdoor Zone, a ministry with chapters in numerous churches and communities around the United States.

Risen Savior preparing for second year of soccer camp
Last summer, Risen Savior Lutheran Church held a youth soccer camp to help children in kindergarten through sixth grade hone their athletic skills while also teaching them about the gospel of Jesus Christ. From the opening of Wallace Lake K-8 to the construction of homes and a Piggly Wiggly grocery store, The Wallace Lake area of Santa Rosa County has seen an influx of development over the past few years.
With development comes people, and with people, comes a need for a church. That was the reasoning behind Marcus Pointe Baptist Church’s expansion into the area with their North Pace campus in 2020.

After eight years at St. Paul United Methodist Church, the Rev. Christina Shaver is transferring churches. Later this year, Shaver will take over as lead pastor at Trinity United Methodist Church in Fort Walton Beach. Shaver has been in ministry since 2010.

The day is an opportunity for communities to gather and connect through shared beliefs.
