About 10 miles from Johnson Space Center, a Houston-area church takes a moment during Wednesday Bible studies and Sunday evening services to pray for two members who cannot be there.

Hundreds of people gathered at Immanuel Baptist Church in Pace Saturday, Aug. 3, for Backpacks for Hope, an annual local missions outreach event that helps connect families in need with school supplies and more.

There wasn’t a smile missing from someone’s face nor a dry eye in the room when Chris and Tammy Roberts strolled into their Immanuel Baptist Church Life Group Tuesday, July 30. This was the first time in nearly three years, Chris and Tammy haven’t had to worry about today being the last for Chris, who recently received a heart and kidney transplant at Shands Hospital in Gainesville.

Over the past 12 years, Momentum Church’s Navarre campus has emerged from an idea into a growing, service-driven church. Part of how the church has been able to grow is its location, the cafeteria of Navarre High School.

The Rev. Dan Morris, 66, was heading toward retirement. Morris had been a pastor for 44 years, the last six at Gulf Breeze United Methodist Church. He had served many communities and congregations but felt called to serve another parish.

Just four years into being a house of worship, Replicate Church is making its mark on East Milton’s faith community. Located at 8700 Bobby Brown Road, the church was recently recognized for its service to the community by the Santa Rosa Board of County Commissioners.

A Milton man who says he’s overcome drug abuse and is currently dealing with another personal crisis is asking area churches to consider ways to open to the community throughout the week, instead of just on Sundays and Wednesdays.

Immanuel Baptist Church of Pace recently held its Vacation Bible School, in which they hosted 512 children. The multi-day event, open to children in kindergarten through fifth grade, is the church’s largest outreach event.

When the Dombrets left Columbia to immigrate to the United States, they always knew they wanted to give back to their birth country. Several decades later, the next generation of Dombrets is following through on that desire.

For the past couple of years, Woodbine Church’s men have been coming together to help teach boys ages 8 to 18 outdoor skills and Bible lessons. The men and boys are a part of Kids Outdoor Zone, a ministry with chapters in numerous churches and communities around the United States.
