Area teams competed at the Gulf Coast Stampede Saturday at the Escambia County Equestrian Center in Pensacola.

The final score doesn’t tell the story. Undefeated Jay (3-0) dominated winless Franklin County (0-3) from the opening kickoff in a 41-18 victory Friday night.
“That was the plan, to come out and execute, to start believing more that we can win, and that’s just what we did,” Jay head coach Brian Watson said after the game. “We took the opening kick off down the field for a touchdown, the defense got a three-and-out and we were back in business.”

A dominant start to the 2023 season continued Saturday for the University of West Florida football team as it went on the road and rolled past McKendree 35-3 in Lebanon, Illinois.
