Jay and Laurel Hill girls’ basketball teams met on Friday night at Jay for a chance to advance to the Rural Region 1 final.
It marked back-to-back weeks in which the Royals and the Hoboes matched up in a tournament game, and both games yielded the same result as the top-seeded Royals came away with a 55-36 win to keep their season alive.

Pace girls soccer coach Nick Williamson told his heartbroken team after its Sweet 16 loss to Bartram Trail Wednesday night that this is the most fun team he has coached.
All season the Patriots played their opponents tough. They won 12 games. And they made the ride an enjoyable one before it ended in a 1-0 loss to the reigning state champs on the road.
