It was one of those nights in the gym where mostly everything went right.


Central’s girls basketball team dominated Northview 77-8 on Dec. 18 to pick up its fourth win in a row, and it’s another big step forward for a young squad.

Kaylee Gilbreath is a three-sport standout at Jay, but volleyball is the one she wanted to play at the collegiate level.


She’ll get the chance to do it after signing with Coastal Alabama North on Tuesday.

Chance Baird really didn’t start playing football until his freshman year, unless you count the year of youth football in second grade.


He turned out to be a pretty good offensive lineman and signed with the University of West Florida on Tuesday.

Pace boys soccer continued its winning ways as AJ Bon-Jorno scored his sixth hat trick of the season and Mitchel Hoffman added another score in a 4-0 victory over Pine Forest on Tuesday.

The first set of FHSAA regional soccer rankings are out and Pace is the lone Santa Rosa County team currently in the top eight.

Pace’s boys wrestling team made a statement earlier this season, going into Tallahassee and winning the Cam Brown Seminole Classic.


To understand how big of a deal that is, keep this thought in mind.

Pace volleyball standout Marley Manning called her signing day last Wednesday a ‘mix of emotions.’


“I was nervous. I was crying. But I feel really good about everything,” Manning said.

Ashley Pickard is excited about the chance to play softball at the college level.


And that excitement was evident when the Pace Patriot standout signed her letter of intent last Wednesday in the high school media center.

In just one season playing at Pace High School, Noah Hamlin made quite an impression.


The ‘Swiss-Army knife” as his head coach Vance Smith referred to him due to his versatility,  was a leader on and off the field in a 10-win season for the Patriots.

Central’s girls weightlifting team competed at the Navarre Invitational on Friday afternoon.


The Jaguars took part in a highly competitive meet and fared well against the competition.
