Chumuckla Highway from just south of Omega Street to Church Street will have nightly lane closures in place on Tuesday, September 24, and Wednesday, September 25. Milling and paving operations will begin in the area at 7 p.m. each night and end at 6 a.m. Southbound Traffic will be detoured from Norris Road to Pace Patriot Boulevard to Highway 90. Northbound Traffic will be detoured through Church Street to Highway 90 and East to Pace Patriot Boulevard. Flagmen will be onsite to direct resident traffic ONLY.

Three people were killed, including a 24-year-old from Pace, in an Escambia County wreck on Friday that involved a vehicle and two motorcycles.

A 26-year-old man from Pace died in a motorcycle crash on the Pea Ridge Connector on Sept. 18.

An increased law enforcement presence is at Hobbs Middle School and Milton High School on Tuesday after a possible threat made toward the schools.

A Pensacola man walking his bicycle in the roadway was hit and killed by a motorist from Pace on Saturday evening, according to a report from Florida Highway Patrol.
