Barber re-elected superintendent of Santa Rosa County Schools

Karen Barber has been re-elected as the superintendent of Santa Rosa County schools. Barber received 16,710 votes, or 49% of the vote, to defeat David Godwin and Brenda Stephens. Godwin received 12,905 votes, or 38%, and Stephens received 4,328 votes or 12.75% of the vote. This story will be updated with more information.

Improvements coming to the Clyde L. Gracey Community Center

Pickleball players rejoice, as there will soon be even more space to play in Milton.
The city received a $139,878 grant from the Florida Recreation Development Assistant Program (FRDAP) and the Clyde L. Gracey Community Center will be undergoing renovations. As part of the work, the existing tennis and pickleball courts at the Dr. O.K. “Doc” Matthews Tennis Complex will be repaired and two stand-alone pickleball courts will be built.
US completes withdrawal from AB 201

The U.S. military completed its withdrawal from Air Base 201 in Agadez, Aug. 5.
The departure from AB 201 was completed more than a month ahead of schedule and was facilitated by the transparency and professionalism of both U.S. and Nigerien forces.
