A man was arrested on July 13 after barricading himself into a vehicle on Glover Lane and shooting at law enforcement, according to a press release from the Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office.

In 2006, Staff Sergeant Daniel Gilyeat’s life changed in the blink of an eye.

Gilyeat was serving his second tour in Iraq, working to find and disarm bombs, when he was caught in the blast of an explosion. Ultimately, he lost his left leg, but it still could’ve been much worse. After the explosion, while in transport by helicopter, Gilyeat died and was revived two times.
