At the Sept. 22 Santa Rosa County Board of County Commissioners meeting, engineering, surveying, planning and design firm Baskerville-Donovan Inc. presented findings regarding plans for a Santa Rosa County pool.

This past school year, S.S. Dixon Primary School raised $26,075 for the American Heart Association as part of the annual Kids Heart Challenge.

Pullum Commerce Park in East Milton is set to get three new warehouses as part of a planned development. The site, currently vacant, is on the north side of Technology Avenue.

Over the years, IMPACT 100 Pensacola Bay Area, a women’s philanthropic organization, has awarded 165 grants worth $17,492,000 to local nonprofits.

Keith Elliott, the suspended I.T. professional for Santa Rosa County District Schools, has not been terminated. At least, not yet.
At their Sept. 9 meeting, the Sant Rosa County School Board voted to uphold the decision to suspend Elliott without pay but didn’t decide on termination of his employment, as Elliott had invoked his right to a hearing.

Facing a decade in prison, Milton father Sean Hollonbeck went to trial Tuesday, Aug. 25, in Santa Rosa County. Hollonbeck was ultimately acquitted on charges of false imprisonment and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
The charges were related to a 2024 incident in which Hollonbeck held an Uber driver at gun-point. Throughout his time facing the charges, Hollonbeck maintained he acted as any parent would under the circumstances.

Normally, when you see several police cars with their red and blues on, excitement isn’t the first word that comes to mind. On August 5, the Milton Police Department and Santa Rosa County first responders aimed to change that.

Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office joined forces with Florida Highway Patrol and other law enforcement partners throughout the region in Panama City to officially kick off Operation Southern Slow Down Monday, July 14.

The Milton City Council voted to move forward with the purchase of almost 260 acres of land in East Milton for city use during their July 8 meeting. The meeting also saw several special proclamations and recognitions from the council.

A couple has submitted plans to turn three parcels in an East Milton neighborhood into a recreational campground site. The conditional use permit request was submitted to Santa Rosa County May 27.
