Milton High School Principal Timothy Short was chosen as Santa Rosa County’s Principal of The Year for 2024-2025. Short has held the position as principal for nine and a half years and has worked in education for more than 30.

Santa Rosa County District Schools are looking for volunteers to increase safety on campus.

The University of West Florida welcomed two National Merit Finalists this fall semester, bringing the total recipients of this scholarship to 16 students since 2017.

Navarre High School, in conjunction with Locklin Technical College, is bringing a welding course to campus. The full course, which will be roughly two semesters in length, will start next school year (SY 2025-26) and serve as another addition to the high school’s already stacked line-up of career and technical education (CTE) courses and opportunities.

Since 1945, Santa Rosa Adult School has been helping Santa Rosa County residents obtain their high school diplomas and GEDs. Going back to school can be a difficult step for many people, but Santa Rosa Adult School has teachers and programs in place meant to assistant students of all ages resume their education journey.

After last year’s seemingly never-ending teacher pay negotiations saga, both the teachers, represented by Santa Rosa Professional Educators, and Santa Rosa District Schools are looking for a quicker resolution to getting paid for the 2024-25 school year.
