The Filing – September 9, 2026
On September 9, 2026, Florida Gas Transmission Company,
LLC (FGT) filed an application for a Certificate of
Public Convenience and Necessity with the Federal Energy
Regulatory Commission (FERC) to construct additional facilities
to our existing interstate natural gas pipeline system.
The project has been designated as our Phase IX Project and
the application has been assigned Docket No. CP26-578-
000 at the FERC.
Florida Gas Transmission – Your clean energy partner
FGT is an interstate pipeline company with offices in
Maitland, Florida, and Houston, Texas, and has employees
at field offices along our vast pipeline system. FGT operates
an approximately 5,366-mile natural gas pipeline system
that runs from South Texas to Homestead, Florida. The
FGT pipeline system has been safely supplying natural gas
to Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, and the majority
of Florida’s natural gas needs for over 60 years through
an extensive network of underground pipelines.
Phase IX Project – Its scope and purpose
The Phase IX Project proposal refers to FGT’s proposal
to add approximately 95 miles of mainline looping on its
existing mainline system across 14 Counties in Mississippi
and Florida, modify/add compression at FGT’s existing
compressor stations in 13 Counties in Alabama and Florida,
add 2 new compressor stations in 2 Counties in Florida, to
transport incremental capacity of up to 526,750 MMBtu/d
of firm transportation service for power electric generation
and supplying local distribution companies for homes, businesses,
and essential industries.
FGT proposes to commence construction in the fourth
quarter 2027, in order to meet the customer’s requested
in-service date for the project of December 1, 2028.
The purpose of the Phase IX Project is to provide additional
firm transportation capacity up to 526,750 million
British thermal units per day (MMBtu/d) of natural gas to
be utilized by power electric generation and supplying local
distribution companies for homes, businesses, and essential
industries.
Planned construction in your area.
Please refer to the map below for the location of facilities
to be constructed in your area. A copy of our FERC
application is available for viewing at the following Public
Library locations:
See attached Library List
How to obtain additional information
FGT will also mail notices to affected landowners and
governmental agencies describing the proposed Phase IX
Project and providing additional information, including a
copy of the FERC’s brochure entitled “An Interstate Natural
Gas Facility on My Land? What do I need to know?”.
This brochure, which answers many frequently asked questions,
may also be accessed through the FERC website address
www.ferc.gov using the “Landowner Resources” link
and the Application can be accessed via the “eLibrary” link,
respectively. Questions pertaining to interstate pipeline facility
proceedings may be directed to the FERC’s Office of
