And the senior knows what it will take for this team to have the same success in this year’s postseason.

Pace moved one step closer to a third consecutive state championship in boys weightlifting while Milton showed it is poised to be somewhere in the top three at state.

Emory Allen showed his emotion, pumping his fists, flexing and shouting, after striking out a batter to get Pace through the top of the seventh inning with the score still 2-2.


And now it was time for the Patriots to take their shot at winning this Region 1-6A quarterfinal in dramatic fashion.

Oh, what a day it was for Jay’s boys weightlifting team.


For the first time in program history, the Royals claimed a regional championship. In fact, they got two of them, winning Olympic and Traditional titles at the Region 1-1A meet in Walton on Friday.

The fact that Pace’s flag football team played for a district championship Thursday night is impressive.


The Patriots lost several key players from last year’s team, including one of the nation’s best quarterbacks in Amaya Pablo, but they still managed to make a run.

It’s time for the next step on the road to state in boys weightlifting. Regional meets get rolling this weekend, with 1A teams headed to Walton and 3A teams set to compete at Pace.

District tournaments for softball start next week and a lot is on the line for the area teams involved.

Pace’s beach volleyball team wrapped up its third season on Wednesday, falling to reigning state champion Gulf Breeze in the District 1-2A tournament.

One night after scoring only one run in a 1-0 win over West Florida Tech, Gracie Ueberroth made sure Pace’s softball team got rolling early in a regular season finale against Navarre.

A girl at the score table kept calling out weight totals for lift attempts. Josh Stillings patiently waited, pacing a bit, until he heard the number he wanted.


A total of 445 lbs. was on the bar here at the District 1-3A meet in Pace earlier this month and the Milton senior made the lift look easy.
