Milton NJROTC cadets honor sacrifice of veterans on Memorial Day

Milton NJROTC cadets spent part of their Memorial Day placing flags on the graves of veterans.

A total of 35 cadets participated and were at the Milton cemetery for nearly three hours before heading over to the Memorial Day Ceremony, where they presented colors and laid wreaths on behalf of veteran groups.

Scott Slay and the Rail to headline
bluegrass celebration at Imogene Theatre

Musician Scott Slay, who fronts the Denver-based bluegrass/folk/country band Scott Slay and the Rail, is looking forward to a sort of homecoming this weekend.

The band, formed in 2015, is the first act to headline the Imogene Concert Series at the Historic Imogene Theatre on Caroline Street, but it won’t be Slay’s first performance at the venerable venue.

The Pensacola Navy League recently announced that a special visitor would be coming to the Emerald Coast during the first weekend in June.

America’s Tall Ship, the USCGC Barque Eagle will moor downtown Pensacola at Plaza De Luna from Thursday, June 2 to Sunday, June 5.

Khrysti Jenkins has seen an incredible outpouring of support in Crestview and beyond since her son went missing on May 6.

Aiden Howey, who is a 14-year-old with autism, has a tendency to wander away from his home, and from May 6 to May 7, he was missing for 22 hours.

Rodeo put on by students raises money for charity

Jay High School hosted their 21st annual Jay Pro Rodeo. The event, which took place on April 29 and 30, was both an event for pro rodeo riders and local amateurs looking for an audience.

The JHS Student Government Association has been putting on the rodeo for over twenty years in order to raise money for both the school and the community.
