To the Class of 2025: The future is yours

| Staff Reporters
Graduates, take a deep breath and soak in this moment. You’ve reached the culmination of years of effort, determination, and resilience. Today, as you stand on the cusp of your future, you are not just closing one chapter—you are stepping into a world filled with boundless possibilities, a world waiting for your imprint.

You are the dreamers and the doers, the thinkers and the creators. You have navigated challenges, embraced new ideas, and grown into individuals ready to shape the world in ways which can’t even be imagined. The road to this moment was never easy, but you persevered. That perseverance is your superpower.

The world you step into is not the same world that existed when you began this journey. It has evolved, just like you. The future is full of promise. You are entering an era of innovation, a time where technology, creativity, and humanity intersect in ways never seen before. You have the power to adapt, to thrive, and to make a difference.

Many will tell you that success is about achievement, about reaching milestones, and collecting accolades. While those are valuable, success is also about purpose, kindness, and authenticity. It’s about finding meaning in your work, making connections that matter, and leaving the world better than you found it.

You will face setbacks. There will be moments of doubt, times when the road forward seems obscured by uncertainty. But in those moments, remember this: You are resilient. You are capable. You have already overcome obstacles, and you will do so again and again. Success is not about avoiding failure—it’s about learning from it, growing because of it, and emerging stronger each time.

Here are a few tips to help you on your way:

nWork hard and play hard. A good strong work ethic is very hard to find these days. We need people to show up, do their best, be part of a team and be passionate about their work. And when you are finished with work – play, explore and have time with family. You can never get back the time you missed with those you love. It is really “use it or lose it” time. When memories with family are replaced by a career, you may want to reevaluate what success looks like to you.

  • Give back to your community. If you find success, remember where you came from and who helped shape you into who you are. Go back and give back. Learn about your community and be ready to get involved.
  • Embrace uncertainty. You don’t have to have everything figured out – and sometimes the best things come from unexpected twists and turns.
  • Always run toward something, whether it be a promotion, new adventure or a set of goals. If you find yourself running away from something, stop, turn around and face it head on – then you can move forward.
  • Remember you are entitled to nothing and everything must be earned.
  • Take the very best life has to offer and enjoy every minute of it. It is the ride of your life…and it starts now.

Good luck graduates! The best part of your life is waiting for you!
